Pokhara!
Didn't managed to update as promised, but I am now from right next to the lake! We had a very nasty journey here- Laura and Outi got back from Chitwan late of Thurday so didn't want to leave early, so w got a bus that was mean't leave at 11:45, but was a bit late leaving. When we did leave we got stuck in a jam on the ring road, so were crawling for over an hour. We eventually got moving, only to get stuck in another jam at the start of the highway! The traffic was only being allowed to go in one direction at a time for a stretch of th road, so we were crawling again for at least another hour! In three hours we covered only a few kilometers! After that the trip was fairly straight forward, stopped once half way there (It took us 5 hours to cover about 100 Km!), and I bought some grilled fish which were very tasty. We also phoned the hotel that we thought we had booked to let them know we would be late, only to find they were full! W were promised a room at his brother' s hotel instead. Shortly after our stop it got dark so instead of having amazing views of the peaks and lake, all we saw was the odd group of lights floating in the darkness! We got to our new hotel without any problems though, except being very tired- I had been awake since 5:30 being plagued by Dehli Belly! After two weeks of suffering I have resorted to antibiotics, which seem to be doing the trick. Still got a cold though- after hearing me coughing Laura thinks I might have bronchitis (she was suffering with it a couple of weeks ago), if so the antibiotics should help with that too.

Yesterday morning we had to meet the guy who was organising our trekking, and had epic plans to see all of Pokhara after that, as Laura and Outi are only here this weekend and then leave the day after we finish trekking, but these we interupted by me being violently sick, followed by Outi a few hours later! All this illness has meant that yesterday we did very little, except visit a Nepali bar/club to play pool, which was interesting- the DJ seemed to have a very limited record collection as we hard every song at least twice!

Today we achieved slightly more- sorted our trekking visas, then had a very hot walk up to The World Peace Pagoda. Laura had a go at being sick en toute, but didn't manage to do it to the same standard as Outi and I! Had some lovely views on the way up and at the top of the valley around the lake, but unfortuately it wasn't clear enough to see anything more exciting. We walked down a different way so we ended up next to the lak, where we got a boat back to Lakeside (the main tourist area) for lunch. This afternoon we went back to the far side of the lake to visit Devi's Falls which is where the river disappears underground, then to a cave nearby which houses an important Hindu temple. We wer hoping to b able to go behind the falls from the cave, but the second part is closed as it is flooded until a couple of months after the monsoon. It might be open before I leave, so I might be going back there later.

This evening we are going to get food (saw a place offering Brownie with chocolate sauce and icecram earlier, so I think we shall be going back there!), then go back to pack before leaving for trekking at 8 am tomorrow! I would give you the trek details, but it was arranged just before and while I was vomiting, so I don't really remember, except that we are going to some hot springs, Poon Hill for sunrise, Ghorepani and starting at Naya Pul, if that means anything to anyone! Will hopefully have some great views of the Annapurna range! No doubt I will have plenty of photos to post upon our return on Friday!
