10 days and counting!
Thats right readers, only 10 days left for you to enjoy the pleasure of my company before I disappear for ever!... well, 3 months at least. In the last couple of months I've worked lots, been on holiday to Slovenia for two lovely weeks, and as of yesterday have moved back in with the parents (it's been 20 hours and so far everyone is still alive and still have most of their limbs!). Feeling slightly apprehensive about the coming months, but more worried about the next few days and trying to cram in all the packing, organising and goodbyes I need to! So far I have a box of stuff that I put together as I moved house, a Lonely Planet guide, a Nepali phrase book and a big bag to put it in! Will make lists later of what I need to pack and buy and then another list of when I'm going to do it, so I might get there eventually! For those of you that don't know The Plan, I'm arriving in Kathmandu on the 17th, will spend a couple of days getting settled before starting work in an orphanage just outside the capital, for 2 weeks. Then from October I will be working in the Tibetian Refugee Centre (also in Kathmandu), until late November, when I will leave for India! Not exactly sure what the plan for India is, but something along the lines of going to a national park to find tigers, somewhere in the north, then travel along the Ganges to Agra (home of the Taj Mahal), then up to New Dehli for a few days, followed by a flight to Hyderabad to visit a friend, then fly back to Kathmandu. Somewhere in there I also want to fit in a few treks, a stay in Tibet (not seven years though if I can help it!), a bungee jump, a rafting expedition and a trip to Chitwan National Park! So Its looking like it will be a pretty busy (and exciting and expensive!) few months! For those of you desperate to bid a fond farewell to me before I go, I'm about and contactable by phone (and email again now!) for most of the next week and will be having official leaving drinks in a pub next Thursday, details to follow. 2:03 PM Comment (3) ...
